For those who saw the other thread - it seems there might be some strong interest in a weigh-bridge / social day out.

The way I see it is we all get together for a short cruise to the weigh-bridge, then just park all the cars and hang out and chat. One at a time, each car can go on the weigh-bridge, get weighed, and have a photo taken showing the weight. As they drive off, the next car can then follow etc etc... I reckon it's a recipe for a top social event as well!

If people want to - they can even have some kind of casual guessing comp to make it more fun. And of course, this calls for a bbq lunch and a couple of quiet drinks. (Either have the BBQ at the weigh-bridge if suitable, or otherwise cruise off once we're finished to a nearby park or something).

Personally, I'd be keen as for this event - I'd not only love to weigh my car to check it's current weight, and get the photo of it, but I'd also love to see what all the other makes and models weigh in at as well.

If anyone knows of any local-ish weigh-bridges that may be suitable, please post up the details. Even better, have a chat to the owners, and see if we can do it, if it's going to cost us, what times we can use it etc etc etc.... maybe we could run an add for the business free of charge in the club newsletter in return for free use or something? Or provide the owners with a free BBQ lunch? Lots of options to think about.

What do you guys think?

Mate sounds like an interesting idea.

I reckon I might just be able to pull some strings with a weigh bride in coldstream - let me do some investigation. :D

Open to other ideas as well

I love the idea! I'd be there for sure!

I'd be really interested to see how all the cars compare to each other, and also how well they "match" their labelled weights

I think the fairlane will be around 1700kg mark.
That's without me in the car too :)

Ah ok, that's not too bad then as I was expecting it to be higher than that. It will definitely be interesting to see them all weighed on the same scales. :)
